  1. All that Glitters exhibit took my breath away! I was literally light headed! Glad to see Hiddenite from N.C. represented. Jane Maske, Chapel Hill, N.C.

    • Thanks Jane-you motivated me to do a little more research on Hiddenite. It’s otherwise known as Green Spodumene. Looks like there’s also unincorporated community in N.C., Hiddenite, in Alexander County. Found a neat reference about the gem created by a graduate student: http://www.emporia.edu/earthsci/amber/go340/students/martin/ Appreciate your comment Jane and hope you are staying cool this summer!

  2. Thanks Annie! I’ll have to provide more intel on places to rockhound and hunt for gems. Let’s find some less commercialized places and have a Tweet Up as you said.

  3. Wonderful video makes me want to grab my pick and pan and hit the trail. Fun to explore on horse back the local mountain areas around the old gem and mineral mines of Southern California. We must garb our pans and tweet up some time Annie
